Cranium In White Room, 1984. Oil on canvas. 275 x 200 cm.
Ransve
loves to construct an origin for his gaze and his disquiet, in their multiple
manifestations. Tenaciously, he insists on looking to the visible for what the
visible continues to conceal and to render imperceptible. He persists
obsessively in subtracting something to the immense an open blackness
surrounding and corroding things. His is a nocturnal and lunar space with no
perimeter; the body’s nefarious and abstract loss of outline where the figure
is now eclipsed forever.
