Painting, memory and desire

«Bjørn Ransve’s pictorial practice mirrors the intrinsic human and pushes it to its extreme possibilities, placing it in a quiet space that draws both opaqueness and transparency, as well as apparition and concreteness. His work can be seen as alluding to the present under the semblance of the “non-topical”; it is a type of painting where memory and desire merge within the interval of that which is no more and that which is yet again”.
