"Blue Harkequin" by Bjørn Ransve

Blue Harkequin, 1981. Oil on canvas. 200 x 76 cm.

On this subject (Harlequin), it is difficult to avoid mentioning the example of Picasso who mirrored the famous trickster of the Italian commedia dell’arte, and made him a key element in many of his early works, as the numerous references in the literature on Picasso seem to attest.
